After a very fun weekend in Bristol at our gorgeous friends’ wedding (with some obligatory Bristol Banksy spotting thrown in for good measure!) we set off for London on Tuesday to attend the 2014 Cosmopolitan Blog Awards. An incredible 46,000 blogs were nominated for the Cosmo Awards and The Whole World is a Playground was one of 7 travel blogs shortlisted for Best Travel Blog. I reckon that’s a pretty big win in itself!
The Cosmo Blog Awards
Having dressed to impress, as the invite requested, we rocked up to the Oxo Tower for the Cosmo party! We were greeted with a chilled glass of bubbly and over 100 of the UK’s finest bloggers. I spent the next 10 minutes checking out the fashion (amazing), oogling the pink cocktails (also amazing) and blogger spotting (some of my blogging faves were also up for awards!).
We were totally spoiled the whole evening with an endless stream of canapes, bubbly and pink (very pink!) cocktails. I’d somehow managed to forget half my makeup in the mad dash for the airport and was lucky enough to meet the girls from MUA Makeup who gave me a beautiful smoky eye while I sipped a Pinky Cosmo. Yep, I could easily get used to this lifestyle!
The Awards
Although we didn’t win Best Travel Blog it was amazing to be part of the 2014 Cosmo Blog Awards. We met some amazing people, shared a million laughs and had an absolute blast!
The Whole World is a Playground is just shy of a year old and we were so happy to be shortlisted alongside so much outstanding talent in the room. Blogging is incredibly rewarding but also a huge commitment (on top of full time jobs!) and it’s amazing to be recognized by a magazine that I not only love reading but reaches an audience of 5 million people in the UK. I think that deserves a Pinky Cosmopolitan!
