Here are our 15 favorite snacks at Universal Orlando. We’ve included all the best snacks from Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure and City Walk.
1 | Butterbeer
Location: Various locations in the Hogsmeade (Islands of Adventure) and Diagon Alley (Universal Orlando)
Cost: Cold, frozen and hot Butterbeer costs $8.50
Since the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in 2010, Butterbeer has become one of the most popular snacks in Universal Orlando. We absolutely love Butterbeer, and grab one at every available opportunity! If we were to describe the taste, it is like a cream soda malt shake crossed with butterscotch!
Best snacks Universal Orlando tip: we’re always asked if Butterbeer contains alcohol. Despite having beer in it’s name it is entirely non-alcoholic!
There are now 6 variations of Butterbeer available in Universal Orlando: it comes in hot, cold, frozen, ice cream, fudge, and potted cream versions. The cold, frozen, and ice cream Butterbeer are our favorites, especially on hot and sunny Orlando days
Best Snacks at Universal Orlando tip: Butterbeer is really popular in both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley and as a result, at peak times the queues can be quite long. In Hogsmeade, try the bar at the back of the Three Broomsticks and always check both ends of the Butterbeer carts as often there can be shorter lines on the far end of the cart.
Where to Get Butter Beer at Universal Orlando
Butterbeer is widely available in both Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
In Hogsmeade, cold and frozen Butterbeer is sold at the Butterbeer carts on the street, in The Three Broomsticks restaurant, and at the Hogs’s Head quick service bar in the back of The Three Broomsticks.
In Diagon Alley, you can get Butterbeer from the Leaky Cauldron, the Hopping Pot, and the Fountain of Fair Fortune. We’ve only found hot butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, the Leaky Cauldron, the Hopping Pot, and Hog’s Head.
Butter Beer ice cream is available from Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour, the Three Broomsticks, and the Hopping Pot. The potted cream is available at the Three Broomsticks and the Leaky Cauldron and the fudge at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade Sugarplum Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley
2 | ‘The Big Pink’ Donut
Location: Lard Lad Donuts, Universal Studios

A trip to Universal Studios Orlando isn’t complete without trying one of Homer Simpson’s favorite foods, a glazed donut!
The most popular donut, ‘The Big Pink’, is one of the cutest (and one of the tastiest!) snacks in the park. This gigantic donut measures around 8 inches across and is easily shared between 2 to 4 people!
We’ve tried the Big Pink both in Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando and every time it’s been delicious. Just don’t underestimate how big this is, it’s huge!
3 | Dole Whip
Location: Wimpy’s (Islands of Adventure), Schwab’s Pharmacy (Universal Studios)
Cost: $3.99 for a cup, $4.49 for a cone
Who knew that you could get a Dole Whip in Universal Orlando? While the Dole Whip is synonymous with Walt Disney World, visitors at Universal Orlando can also grab a Dole Whip in the parks! It is sold at both Wimpy’s in Islands of Adventure and Schwab’s Pharmacy in Universal Studios.
The soft-serve frozen dessert is a refreshing treat on a hot and humid Florida day.
Best Snacks in Universal Orlando tip: Wimpy’s is a seasonal quick service restaurant that only operates at peak times during the year. The hours van vary, however generally it’s open from around lunchtime during the summer months, although this can vary.
4 | Duff Beer
Location: Duff Brewery and Moe’s Tavern, Universal Studios
Cost: Draft $12.75, draft with souvenir mug $15.75, bottle $10.75
Duff Beer is one of the most famous exports of The Simpsons and visitors can try the real-life Duff Beer in Universal Studios Orlando. Duff is available on tap and in bottles in both the Duff Brewery and Moe’s Tavern.
There are two versions of Duff beer available to purchase, regular Duff which is larger and similar to Budweiser/Heineken. Duff Lite is a light beer and very similar to Bud Light.
Our favorite spot in Springfield is Moe’s Tavern as you can grab a bite to eat from the Simpson’s-themed Fast Food Boulevard and wash it down with a Duff beer in Moe’s Tavern! Any fans of The Simpsons will love Moe’s Tavern as there are lots of details from the show in Moe’s Tavern with the show playing in the background and a Love Tester machine in the corner.
The Duff Brewery across from Moe’s Tavern has a more outdoor feel with covered and uncovered seating area.
5 | Brookie
Location: Blondies, Thunder Falls Terrace, The Burger Digs and Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous in Islands of Adventure
Cost: $4.79
The Brookie, a jumbo brownie crossed with a chocolate chip cookie, is like a meal in cookie form! We always share a Brookie after enjoying one of Blondie’s famous Dagwood Sandwiches and it is super filling and delicious!
6 | Green Eggs and Ham Tots
Location: Green Eggs and Ham Cafe, Islands of Adventure
Cost: $9.99
Inspired by Dr Seuss’ Green Eggs and Ham, the Green Eggs and Ham Tots are a great afternoon comfort snack in Islands of Adventure. Available from Green Eggs and Ham Cafe (a quick-service cafe shaped like a giant green ham!), the dish consists of green eggs, diced ham, and white cheese sauce over tater tots.
The Who Hash, served in a souvenir Who Hash tin (ask for it to be served in a regular dish if you want to keep the Who Hash can!), is another popular dish. It is made up of corned beef, onions, white cheese sauce, scallions, and tater tots and costs $14.99.
7 | The Flaming Moe
Location: Moe’s Tavern and Flaming Moe’s, Universal Studios
Cost: $8.99
If you’re dropping into Moe’s Tavern make sure to try one of the iconic Flaming Mo’s. Inspired by one of the best-known Simpson episodes, visitors can have fun trying a real-life Flaming Moe.
Unlike the Flaming Moe in the show, the real-life Flaming Moe is non-alcoholic and just contains orange soda, with the flaming effect created by dry ice in the bottom section of the cup. It’s a really fun (albeit expensive for what it is!) drink.
8 | Croissant Moon Bakery
Location: Croissant Moon Bakery, Islands of Adventure
The Croissant Moon Bakery has a host of great pastries and snacks and one of our favorites is their delicious ham and cheese croissant.
The selection includes sandwiches, salads and paninis, fruit cups and sweet treats and is perfect for a breakfast on the go. There are some great vegan options and we’ve picked up some nice themed snacks – we had a lovely Grinch vanilla mini cake recently!
9 | Milkshakes at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium
Location: Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, City Walk
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium is home to some of the prettiest milkshakes we’ve ever seen. From Red Velvet to chocolate brownies and Key Lime Pie, the stunning milkshakes are the perfect sweet treat.
10|Crepes from Central Park Crepes
Location: Central Park Crepes, Universal Studios
Cost: $9.99 to $11.99
A great grab-and-go snack in Universal Studios Orlando is the delicious crepes made-to-order from Central Park Crepes. This small quick-service location offers both sweet and savory crepes. The savory menu items are Pork Carnitas and Smoked Brisket while the sweet options are Vegan Berry and Strawberry Hazelnut.
We love all the crepes but the our family favorite is the Strawberry Hazelnut. They are all really delicious and filling!
Best Snacks at Univeral Orlando: there can be quite a wait as the crepes are made to order so aim to order at a quieter time.
11 | Ocean Attack
Location: Chez Alcatraz, Universal Studios
Cost: $11.99
The Jaws-themed Ocean Attack is an iconic drink at Universal Orlando. It’s one of the most fun drinks in the park due in part to the fun shark attack show the bartenders put on preparing the drink.
The Ocean Attack is available in alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions – the alcoholic version is made using Coconut Rum, Blue Curacao, pineapple juice, Sprite, Grenadine, a cherry and a shark gummy and the non-alcoholic version omits rum and uses a zero alcohol Blue Curacao.
The Ocean Attack is only available at Chez Alcatraz,a marine-themed limited-service bar which specialises in signature cocktails. It’s a really fun drink and a great way to cool down while exploring Universal Studios Orlando.
Best Snacks at Universal Orlando tip: Make sure to grab a photo with ‘Bruce’, the Jaws shark who is hanging on a wooden frame beside Chez Alcatraz. It’s one of our favorite photo spots in the parks!
12 | Ice Cream at Florean Fortescue’s Ice-Cream Parlour
Location: Diagon Alley, Universal Stuidos
Cost: cup $4.99, cone $5.99, sundaes $6.99, souvenir cups $10.99
This Harry Potter-themed ice cream store is one of the most popular eateries in the parks. Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlous offers unique flavors with a selection of hard-packed ice creams and a wonderful soft-serve Butterbeer flavored ice cream.
Our favorite is the Salted Caramel Blondie but everything we’ve tasted has been excellent!
Best Snacks at Universal Orlando tip: the line usually snakes around the outside of the parlour but it moves quickly.
13 | Voodoo Donuts
Location: City Walk
Renowned for the crazy variety and unique toppings that it puts on its donuts, the decor is colorful and quirky and the donuts are delicious.
14 | Jurassic World Isla Nublar IPA
Location: Thunder Falls Terrace, The Burger Digs in Islands of Adventure
Cost: $12.75
Jurassic World fans will love this themed draught beer available in Jurassic Park in Islands of Adventure. The Jurassic World Isla Nublar IPA was released when Veloicoaster launched and the beer tab is inspired by the Mosasaur feeding scene from Jurassic World.
15 | Ploughman’s Platter
Location: Diagon Alley, Universal Studios
Cost: $21.99 for two
Available for 1,2 or 4, the Ploughman’s Platter is a feast of cheese, bread, salad, scotch eggs, Branston pickles and tomatoes.
We love sharing a Ploughman’s in the wonderful surroundings of the Leaky Cauldron, the wizarding pub and inn on Diagon Alley.
