Due to the flight times we ended up flying through London Heathrow on our way from Dublin to Abu Dhabi. I was panicked. Not panicked that I would miss my connecting flight. No, I was panicked that I wouldn’t have time to check out the Etihad London Heathrow lounge! P22XX5H4SETU
Fortunately our Aer Lingus flight from Dublin arrived in good time and we made a smooth transfer from Terminal 1 to Terminal 4 with an hour to relax in the luxury of the Etihad lounge. Result!
The Lounge
The Etihad lounge is sectioned off into separate areas for relaxing, dining and working and there is a spa, business centre and a children’s playroom. It is beautifully designed with a cream and black décor and everything in the lounge is immaculate. The sectioned layout ensures privacy in all the areas and results in an exclusive and intimate feel.
Dining
The lounge offers both an à la carte and buffet dining options. We didn’t have time to sample the à la carte menu but the choices included sea bass, lamb kebab and potato gnocchi for the main course.
The food options:
We opted for a steak pie and a selection of wraps, sandwiches and appetisers from the buffet and a glass of champagne and some soft drinks from the beverages menu. The buffet was well stocked at all times and was beautifully presented. Table service is provided for the à la carte food options and the beverages.
The food was excellent and everything we sampled was delicious.
The Spa
The Six Senses Spa is the absolute highlight of the Etihad lounge for me. A complementary 15 minute facial or massage is available in one of the cosy treatment rooms in the spa. It was the perfect remedy after a morning of travel and I came out relaxed and refreshed.
Facilities
The facilities in the London Heathrow lounge are first class. There’s a secluded work area with 5 shiny Macs, shower rooms and a prayer area. Although there were no children in the lounge when I was travelling, I appreciated the inclusion of a sound proof kiddies play area! Unlike the Abu Dhabi lounge where qualified nannies watch over the children the Heathrow lounge was not staffed.
Not many lounges meet my quest for a blinging bathroom but Etihad excelled with its gorgeous offering!
Location
This is the most well located lounge I’ve visited. It was directly across from the boarding gate allowing us to maximise our time in the lounge and board the aircraft at our leisure. Perfect!
Service
The service was exceptional from the moment we checked in and the staff invited us to relax inside while they processed our boarding passes. Our requests for food and drinks were met promptly and it was wonderful to have table service. Boarding announcements are not made in the lounge and, instead, the staff update passengers individually on boarding status.
Overall
I absolutely loved the Etihad London Heathrow lounge. It was beautifully laid out and absolutely immaculate from when we entered down the white spiral stair case. The table service was a lovely touch for a lounge and the service was exceptional.
It was a world away from the hustle and bustle of the terminal just outside the doors and was more akin to being in a good restaurant than an airport lounge. I just wish we had had longer to relax there!

What a wonderful experience
We arrived into the Etihad Business Lounge at terminal 4 at Heathrow Airport zlondon, and immediately felt relaxed.
We were greeted very pleasantly at the door and showed the facilities.
We were superbly looked after by Ria who chatted to us and made us feel at home. She was amazing and was the most wonderful way for us to finish our holiday in London.
