Goofy’s Kitchen is a fun dining experience at Disneyland California and we always snag a reservation when we visit. With awesome characters, signature dishes and a napkin-waving parade, there’s lots to enjoy at Goofy’s Kitchen!
For those of you considering reserving Goofy’s Kitchen, we wanted to share our 2024 review and our thoughts on whether this character dining experience is worth it at Disneyland California.
Goofy’s Kitchen tip: we dined with Goofy and Friends at the Disneyland Hotel most recently in January 2024.
Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland California
Goofy’s Kitchen is a character dining experience at the Disneyland Hotel. The buffet-style all-you-care-to-eat spread serves breakfast from 7.05am to 1:05pm and dinner from 5pm to 8.45pm.
Characters
As the name suggests, Goofy hosts breakfast and dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen. He is joined by Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip and Dale.
Goofy meets guests in his kitchen at the entrance to the restaurant and the meet is captured by a PhotoPass Photographer. The photos are included in the cost of the meal.
Once seated, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Chip and Dale visit guests throughout the meal. The characters pass through the restaurant pretty often – we saw some of them 3 times over the course of our 1.5 hour meal.
Goofy’s Kitchen tip: if you miss seeing a character during dining then make sure to mention it to a Cast Member. We’ve often done this if we are leaving or haven’t seen a character during a meal and the Cast Member has always asked them to stop by our table as soon as possible.
One of the highlights of Goofy’s Kitchen is when, every 30 minutes or so, the characters parade around the restaurant to music and everyone is encouraged to wave their napkins!
We’ve had some amazing character meets at Goofy’s Kitchen. Our kids had a fantastic conversation with Dale about his favorite foods and, on one occasion, Minnie and Pluto teamed up for a joint character meet. Goofy is always awesome as the host and has always been happy to take lots of photos in his kitchen.
Goofy’s Kitchen tip: the character line up is very similar at Storytellers and Goofy’s Kitchen – Mickey Mouse hosts Storytellers and Goofy hosts Goofy’s Kitchen and the other characters in attendance are the same at each (Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale).
Breakfast and Dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen
There is an awesome selection of food at both breakfast and dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen. We’ve dined at both and love the food options.
Breakfast or dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen?
There is a lot of overlap between the food served with mains and desserts available at both breakfast and dinner. The main difference is that during breakfast there are breakfast-specific buffet items and these are replaced with a wider range of mains and sides at dinner.
The signature dishes like Goofy’s Famous Peanut Butter and Jelly Pizza and the Dirt and Worms dessert are available at breakfast and dinner. There is also a wide selection of desserts, a salad bar and a soft-serve ice cream station at both.
The characters are the same at both breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast
The breakfast buffet includes a full selection of breakfast foods – there is a variety of pastries, sausages, eggs, bacon, omelettes, French toast, cereals, egg benedict and, of course, Mickey waffles and pancakes.
Goofy’s Kitchen also serves a wide selection of brunch items at breakfast with dishes including salads, mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, pizzas and pork tamales.
If you like desserts, then you are in for a treat at Goofy’s Kitchen as the dessert buffet is fully stocked, even at breakfast, and includes Goofy’s Famous Peanut Butter Pizza. Scroll down for more dessert pics!
Dinner
A huge selection of dishes are served up at dinner. Choices include fresh fish of the day, a carved meats station, pizza, mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. There are lots of sides on offer including vegetables, salads, rice and potatoes.
Desserts (Breakfast and Dinner)
A huge dessert buffet rounds up the breakfast and dinner offerings at Goofy’s Kitchen. There’s even a soft-serve ice cream station with delicious toppings!
Is Goofy’s Kitchen Worth it?
Yes, we certainly think so! Dining at Goofy’s Kitchen is so much fun – the characters are fantastic and there is a great selection of food with some fantastic themed options (we love the famous Goofy’s Peanut Butter Pizza and the Dirt and Worms dessert).
We love the characters at Goofy’s Kitchen and are always happy to meet some of the Fab 5.
We also love the wide variety of food at Goofy’s Kitchen – it’s fantastic to dine where there is something for everyone in our family of 5!

Do I need to reserve Goofy’s Kitchen in advance?
Yes! All the character meals are extremely popular at Disneyland. Dining reservations typically open 60 days in advance at 3am PST/6am EST. We reserved while in the UK so have an 8-hour time difference with PST for most of the year.
Don’t despair if you don’t manage to make a reservation when they drop at 60 days out. We always sign up for Mouse Dining in advance of our Disney visits and set text alerts for our preferred days and times. We’ve always managed to get our favored reservation times even on last-minute visits.
Breakfast must be cancelled at least 2 hours in advance or a $10 per person cancellation fee applies.
Is there a PhotoPass photographer at Goofy’s Kitchen?
Yes! There is a dedicated photo spot at Goofy’s Kitchen – as you enter the restaurant you will be directed to Chef Goofy’s kitchen where a PhotoPass photographer captures your meeting with Goofy. PhotoPass photos are included in the breakfast although we also had a PhotoPass included in the cost of our Genie+ reservation for that day.
Goofy’s Kitchen tip: Goofy was busy when we arrived to our most recent meal at Goofy’s Kitchen so we met Pluto in the Kitchen instead. We were able to meet Goofy a short time later but it was amazing to have two character meets on our Photopass and to get some great photos with Pluto!
Do the characters sign autographs at Goofy’s Kitchen?
Yes! We’ve had our books signed by all 5 characters at Goofy’s Kitchen.
How long does the Goofy’s Kitchen breakfast and dinner take?
I’d say allow around at least 1.5 hour to enjoy breakfast. We spent around 1hour to 1.5 hours in the restaurant and enjoyed a very leisurely meal. We also had plenty of time to meet the characters.
We spent another 1 hour at the Resort.
We’ve stayed in the Disneyland Hotel previously (we split our stay between the Pixar Place Hotel and the Residence Inn Convention Centre on our most recent visit) but still love to explore the Disneyland Resorts.
Do I need a theme park reservation to attend Goofy’s Kitchen?
No. Goofy’s Kitchen is held in the Disneyland Hotel. Theme park tickets are not required for hotel visits. We tend to reserve our hotel character dining for days we’re not at the park as it can take 2 or 3 hours out of a park day.
Parking at Goofy Kitchen
A Goofy’s Kitchen reservation includes 3 hours of self-parking (parking needs to be validated at the restaurant). Guests are charged $40 for the first additional hour and $10 for each subsequent hour (up to $80 maximum).
How to get to Goofy’s Kitchen
If you’re in the parks then it’s a 10 minute walk over to the Disneyland Hotel. You can also take the Monorail from Tomorrowland to the Disney Village where it stops quite close to the hotel.
We often drive over and take advantage of the complimentary 3-hour self-parking included with a Goofy’s Kitchen reservation.
Are there badges at Goofy’s Kitchen?
There are special badges available at all the character dining locations in Disneyland California. Sometimes they are given on arrival but sometimes you need to ask.
