If you want to meet an Avengers Super Hero in Disneyland Paris then the Hero Training Center should be one of your first stops! From Spider-Man and Black Widow to Captain Marvel and Iron Man, each day at the Hero Training Center is unique. One thing is for certain, you are guaranteed to meet one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!
The Hero Training Center is a highlight of our Disneyland Paris visits and we’ve had some magnificent Super Hero encounters! For those of you planning your own trip, we wanted to share everything you need to know about the Hero Training Center in Disneyland Paris and our top tips for securing one of those highly coveted slots!
Hero Training Center Disneyland Paris
Designed by Tony Stark himself, the Hero Training Center is the setting for Avengers Super Hero meet and greets. It is located in the Avengers Campus in Walt Disney Studios Park in Disneyland Paris – read our full guide to the Marvel Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris.
A Virtual Queue is in operation for the Hero Training Center so you will need to prebook your meet and greet on the day of your visit – we’ve explained how this works a little further on.
Which Super Heros can I meet at the Hero Training Center?
The great thing about the Hero Training Center is that so many of the Avengers Super Heroes have been in attendance! You can choose a surprise encounter, or, if you are set on meeting Spider-Man, then you can select his very own Heroic Encounter.
The two Heroic Encounters available at the Hero Training Center are:
Spider-Man Heroic Encounter
As the name suggests this is a Heroic Encounter with your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Spider-Man will teach you, as a recruit, (you become an Avengers recruit the moment you enter the campus!) his best moves so you can strike some awesome poses together. It’s a really fun encounter with one of the most beloved Marvel Super Heroes.
Marvel Super Hero Heroic Encounter
The other option is to choose a Marvel Super Hero Heroic Encounter which is a surprise meet and greet – you will not know which Avenger you are meeting until you walk into the encounter!
Hero Training Center tip: we’ve met Iron Man, Captain Falcon, Captain Marvel and Thor thorugh the surprise Heroic Encounters. We’ve also heard from other guests that they’ve met Shuri, Loki, Black Widow, Dr. Strange, T’Challa and Ant Man – we’d consider Super Heroes meets with Shuri, Dr. Strange and T’Challa much rarer than, say, Captain Falcon and Captain Marvel but that’s the beauty of the Hero Training Center!
How to Book the Hero Training Center
The Heroic Encounters at the Hero Training Center must be reserved through a Virtual Queue. This means you need to reserve a spot at the Hero Training Center in advance rather than just turning up and joining a queue (like the way you would just join the queue for other characters including Mickey Mouse, Stitch, or at the Princess Pavillion).
The Virtual Queue can only be booked after you have scanned into the park on the day of your visit. It is booked via the official Disneyland Paris app. You must have a ticket to Walt Disney Studios Park or a Park Hopper ticket – the Hero Training Center is located in the Marvel Avengers Campus in Walt Disney Studios Park so you need to have a valid ticket for this park.
You can only reserve one Heroic Encounter per day of your visit.
Where to find the Virtual Queue for the Hero Training Center
It can be a little tricky to find the Virtual Queue for the Hero Training Center but there are a few ways to access it – through the Characters box on the home tab, by searching the map tab or by listing the character meets in the map tab.
We usually navigate through the map tab.
- Click on the Map Tab at the bottom of the DLP App
- Click List at the top of the Map Tab
- Swipe right past Attractions and Shows on the menu under Map/List and select Characters. Filter to Walt Disney Studios Park just below Characters
- Select the Hero Training Center option
- Click Join the Queue
The Virtual Queue
Typically, spots in the Virtual Queue are released twice daily at 10am and 2.30pm (make sure to check the Disneyland Paris app for the latest virtual queue times as they can vary). You can join the queue for Spider-Man or choose the surprise meet and greet but, remember, you can only reserve one per day.
Once you have completed your reservation a confirmation screen will appear with an estimated waiting time:
There will also be some information on the next steps. The wait time refreshes automatically in the App and you should aim to be close to the Hero Training Center as your wait time approaches zero minutes.
You can only enter the Hero Training Center when your wait time hits 0 minutes but you must use your slot relatively quickly or it will expire. We try to be there within around 15 minutes max when our wait time hits 0 minutes.
The Virtual Queues close as soon as capacity has been reached – this can be within seconds of their release so you will need to be ready and waiting with the app in hand!
What you need to join the Virtual Queue
To join the Virtual Queue, you must link your tickets, hotel reservation, or pass to your account in the app.
You must possess a valid ticket to Walt Disney Studios Park (this can be through a standalone ticket for Walt Disney Studios or via a Park Hopper ticket which includes both parks – if you reserved a Hotel and Tickets package through DisneylandParis.com you will have Park Hopper tickets included from check in to check out).
Visitors must have entered Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios Park in order to book a place in the Virtual Queue. Only guests who have activated their ticket can reserve the Hero Training Center, so make sure you swipe each of your party individually upon entering the park – this is really important if you’re entering the park with younger kids as it can be easy to miss swiping a second ticket if you have a child in a stroller or beside you.

Arriving at the Hero Training Center
When your wait time reaches 0 minutes you can go to the entrance of the Hero Training Center. It is located close to the Quinjet and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force in the Marvel Avengers Campus.
Upon arriving at the entrance to the building a Cast Member will check your reservation on your app and show you to the waiting area.
After moving through the waiting area (you move forward on a set of benches as each group is called through) you will then be sent through to wait in the corridor just outside your Heroic Encounter before being invited in to meet your Super Hero!
A PhotoPass photographer is on hand to capture the best moments from the Heroic Encounter. At the Heroic Encounter, you will also capture a really awesome 180° multi-frame motion photo which you can purchase.
Can I Meet the Super Heroes Anywhere Else?
Yes! There is a Heroic Encounter meet and greet by the entrance to the Avengers Campus. It’s often Ant-Man or the Wasp but other Super Heroes do make appearances here. This Super Hero meet does not need to be reserved in advance, you can join the line whenever it is open.
Avengers Super Heroes also perform in shows and do walkabouts through the campus. There’s no way of predicting when these will happen but if you hang around Avengers Campus it’s highly likely you will catch some wonderful performances and experience some great character interactions.
We often meet Thor, Loki and Spider-Man when we’re hanging out on the Campus.
Avengers Super Heroes including Spider-Man, Thor, Captain Marvel, Captain Falcon and Iron Man appear together on the rooftop surrounding the Quinjet aircraft while welcoming new recruits (or park guests!) to the Avengers Campus.
General Okoye teaches the 5 tenets of the Dora Milaje in the Warriors of Wakanda show.
Guests at Art of Marvel – Hotel New York can meet a Super Hero at the hotel meet and greet which is exclusive to hotel guests – check prices here!
We met Thor and Black Widow on our most recent stay at the Marvel Hotel.
